About cookies

Cookies are small blocks of data created by a web server while a user is browsing a website and placed on the user’s computer by the web browser. The information is then sent back to the server each time the browser displays the server’s website. This allows a web server to identify and track web browsers.

There are two main types of cookies: session cookies and persistent cookies. Session cookies are removed when you close the web browser, whereas persistent cookies remain stored on your computer for a specific length of time or until they are removed.
